Business Process Solutions

The Weill Cornell Medicine (WCM) Business Process Solutions (BPS) Office offers a variety of services in support of WCM clinical, investigational and educational operations and endeavors. Our staff members work with WCM vendors, partners and affiliates to review legislation and university policies for appropriate outcomes. We also design and carry out process and performance reviews as well as monitor controls and metrics upon request. All BPS services are free of charge.

Services

  • Business process evaluation: evaluation of a specific business process to identify inefficiencies including lag time, redundancy and cycling
  • Business process modeling: alignment of an organization with applications, data and technology to achieve both current and future goals
  • Quality evaluation and control monitoring: identification of quality and control gaps followed by post-change control evaluation to ensure efficient processes
  • Resource modeling and planning: evaluation of task-to-team alignments, determination of an effective organizational structure and calculation of staffing needs to accommodate growth changes
  • Market analysis: examination of comparative market operating models and processes
  • Cost-benefit analysis: development of a business case for proposed changes, followed by cost-benefit evaluation of future operations
  • Compliance and regulation impact analysis: review of new regulations and policy changes to evaluate their impact on current business processes and operations
  • Change management: planning and support for large or small business transformations
  • Business analysis: gathering and documenting business requirements, performing gap analyses and facilitating cross-functional, multi-departmental sessions
