The Weill Cornell Medicine strategic planning process provides our institution with a road map that details challenges and opportunities within our changing environment. The process allows WCM to enhance its institutional capacity in performance of our tripartite mission of education, research and patient care.
Our past strategic planning efforts have allowed the institution to:
- Construct the Weill Greenberg Center and the Belfer Research Building.
- Recruit preeminent clinical and investigative faculty members.
- Secure housing facilities in proximity to the campus.
- Increase endowed scholarship support for students.
Accessing Strategic Plan Funds
Capital Strategic Plan Funds
In order to access funds for capital purposes under a strategic plan, projects must be initiated through Weill Cornell Medicine Capital Planning. The Division of Financial Resources & Analysis coordinates with Capital Planning to release funding for capital projects.
Strategic Plan Faculty Recruitment
An approved strategic plan recruit must have their signed offer letter and business plan, if applicable, submitted to the Division of Financial Resources & Analysis in order to access funds. Under no circumstances will any funds be released without a signed offer letter. The Division of Financial Resources & Analysis provides account details once a recruit’s fund is set up for use.
Endowed Strategic Plan Funds
Following Board of Overseers approval of investment income usages, the Department of Budget & Financial Strategy automatically sends emails to department administrators with all relevant details concerning endowed strategic plan funds.
